Original Filter Efficiency Test Bed Design
A Turbulent Journey
Jun 2017 – May 2018
There were two phases for this project, with a different team for each phase. Phase one took care of designing and modeling the device using CAD. Phase two took the design, finalized it, and created a production plan, complete with a design overview and explanation, BOM, and CAD detail drawings for each component. Crucial design decisions were made base on stress calculations, as well as length requirements due to the nature of pressure readings in laminar and turbulent flow.
I was the only individual who was a part of both teams. Because of this, I played a crucial role in explaining the design decisions made in phase one and forwarding all necessary information to the new team so that they could understand exactly how it all worked, to make a coherent production plan. This strengthened my ability to sort and store information and documented work done on a project efficiently, to get it to where it needs to go in a timely and practical manner. I was also responsible for much of the 3D-modeling and dimension drawings used in the final report, as well as the initial stress calculations of key components during phase one of the project.
